Sir Trevor McDonald and ITV have been plunged into a new animal cruelty row.
Campaigners have slammed the broadcaster for “legitimising” cruelty by showing Sir Trevor visit a “camel wrestling” event.
In front of thousands of people, the animals are tethered and hauled into an arena – where they fight to whoops from the crowd.
Sir Trevor accepts in the programme that this is “natural behaviour” by the camels.
But campaigners say he is grossly mistaken.
